Is Learn and Master Guitar Worth it?

By admin | January 30, 2008

Not all of us what to become the next Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton on the guitar, how ever it is nice to be skilled at our hobbies. Which brings about the question, what is it worth to learn to play guitar well? The best product on the market today to teach yourself guitar is Learn and Master Guitar. It’s a guitar lessons dvd set that comes with printed material for practice and jam along cds to implement what you learn, how ever the price tag is steep, so is it worth it?

It’s tough to put a price on learning something, but lets see if we can do it here. Assume we pay $15 per ½ hour private guitar lesson. You take 50 lessons a year (everyone gets vacation right) so your total cost for lessons the first year is $750.00. How much you learn that year will be based on how quickly you can pick up new concepts and your practice time.

Let’s contrast that cost to Learn and Master Guitar. Assume that their dvd system costs $200.00 plus shipping. That’s about 1/3 the cost of the private lessons, yet you still receive at least a years worth of lessons and content to follow. Not to mention you can learn at your own pace, and if you don’t have time one week to practice you won’t waste $15 on next weeks lesson to not learn anything new.

When comparing the cost of private lessons to guitar lesson dvds I think there is a strong argument that while they might not be cheap, they’re with out a doubt a better value then enrolling in private guitar lessons each week.
