Tips Before You Move In

By admin | March 28, 2008

If you are thinking of buying a new house, or have already bought one, here are some tips before you move in.  When you think about buying a house, you have to be able to see more than just a house.  Take a look around you.  A large part of what makes a home a home is the type of community that it’s in.  For instance, you could purchase a lovely home that is affordable and seems perfect, except that there’s a catch.  The catch is that it’s in the worst section of town where the crime rate is the highest.  Now, who would still go for that home knowing this information?  You’d be surprised.  Before you even think about buying a home, make sure that you review the area.  When you go to walk through a house, drive around the neighborhood first.  Make sure that you drive around during different times of the day (ex: morning, noon and night).  How quiet is the neighborhood?  Are there a lot of children around?  Are there a lot of people loitering in the streets at night?  How is the parking in the neighborhood?  Do you have to weave your car from one side of the road to the other because of the number of people parked on the street and not in the driveways?  These are just a couple of things to consider before you move in.
