A Personal Decorating Evolution

By admin | August 16, 2008

When I look around my apartment, I am amazed at how much my taste has changed over the years.

In high school I went for the classic “all-purple” look, followed in college by the sloppy dorm phase. This decorating choice consisted of piles of clothes, books, and pizzas, with a couple of spaces for actual furniture.

Once I had to pay my own way, my “thrift store” period began, complete with sheets at the windows, hotplates, and mattresses resting directly on the floor. I also had plants, pretty much everywhere.

The use of plants is the only technique to survive my early decorating attempts. I still have a sun room filled with greenery and I still love it.

But fortunately, the rest of my schemes disappeared along with my go-go boots.
