Potential Problems With Backyard Orchards

By admin | January 8, 2008

Have you tried having your own backyard orchard? It is very rewarding growing your own fruit trees and enjoying the fruits of your labors however there is one very important aspect you should consider before embarking with your own backyard orchard. That aspect or in my opinion the number one problem is how to protect your orchard from birds and violent weather such as hail storms or very heavy rain and winds. When compiling my private label home improvement articles about the subject of home orchards I couldn’t help but recall some of the anquish some of friends suffered with the above problems. Cockatoo’s were particularly bad as they could literally strip and entire orchard within hours. Hail damage was just as devasting stripping the leaves and fruit away within minutes. In both cases my friends after losing most of their orchard the first time round opted for covering their orchards with fine mesh which solved both problems from happening again.
