Memorable gold cufflinks (part 1)
By admin | November 16, 2008
My dad gave me a pair of gold cufflinks just before he passed away, and I still keep those with me. I used it just once - in the first wedding anniversary of my parents after my dad’s death and my mom requested me to wear it. Apparently, it was a gift for my father from his father-in-law, my mom’s dad who is a World War II veteran. The old man died just before my parents wedded, and the gift was made when the old man talked privately to my dad.The story is that the cufflink pair is a memento from the war. It was engraved with a name of the ship where my grandpa served, and apparently, it was given by his fellow soldier who died in the war. My grandpa kept it and included it in his most important belongings. And he gave the engraved cufflinks to my dad when they talked just before my grandpa died.
