Carrying buildings called portable buildings

By admin | March 30, 2008

The idea of  Portable Buildings  is an example of human ingenuity. It refers to the innately human capacity to evolve oxymoronic ideas and concepts. An oxymoron is the yoking or pairing of opposite ideas. The idea of portable buildings is one such. In effect, a building refers to something permanent while portable refers to anything that is transportable and hence impermanent. Thus portable buildings refer to a compound idea encapsulating two opposite ideas. Such buildings are also called demountable buildings. A more modern version of these can be seen in modular buildings. However there are certain differences between the various names. The differences are mainly due to design and uses.
