Don’t Mind the Detour

I do not mind that occasionally an employee has an errand to run or a detour to make while he is putting in a regularly scheduled day. I do not care how long it takes our drivers to get from Point A to Point B because I am paying them for the trip and not the amount of time they spend. What I do mind is having to pay for the gas or the time if it is not reasonable. With that in mind our company went with the Nextel GPS tracking devices so that the drivers to clock in and out when they are working for me and pay out of their own pocket when they need to do personal runs.
