Mastering Gongs is Easy

Gongs can be an alternative way to learn basic music. It’s easy to learn and practice. For any ordinary individual who may or may have no background with music, a gong ensemble consisting of 5 to 9 suspended gongs are easy to master and appreciate Why easy? Because you can virtually hit anyone of the gongs and still create a musical piece that is soothing to the ears. Gongs have only five tones (musically termed pentatonic) in the scale-unlike the much more complex xylophone. This feature takes the risk of excess tones (either the too high or low pitched) in a piece. The key to playing with gongs is having a repetitive rhythm where you play a certain pattern of tones that gradually picks up its pace or slows down towards the ending point.
