Dragons are popular in Celtic, Chinese and Japanese tattoos

Dragons, especially today, are very popular images to use in tattoos. There are many kinds of dragons, as any study of folklore will tell you. There are various European depictions of dragons, Celtic dragons, Chinese and Japanese dragons, for example. The dragon has different significance in these cultures, but in all cases it is a symbol of great power. Dragons are popular in Chinese and japanese tattoos because in those traditions, the dragon is a powerfully positive (though still fearsome) symbol.
